Karnak

Karnak

The monuments in middle of the desert
The testament for days that not return
Why they are standing there in the lonesome isolation?
Who could remember reason and the purpose?
All gone forever ,departed in the spirit's world
The temples,columns, statues crumbling slowly
Like cookies over burned by the unforgiving sun
The glory, glory left long time ago after imperial decline
For centuries the wind and grave robbers only would
Come and say hello ,arising stones to the life again
Nowadays, the tourists wander in between
Marveling at formidable sight, breathing the air of the past
At night the structures would come alive, exited by attention
Discussing people seen during the day
Remembering the things nobody could remember
The pharaohs visiting construction site
Gold gleaming on the neck and crown
White virgin robes swaying under sirocco's kiss
Slaves carrying heavy objects,tagging, pulling
Oh,those were the days they whisper in the night
Letting out groan,troubling desert's sleep
